“Two years ago I started tying a sandeel with a large, bead size deerhair ball by the eye of the hook. Behind the ball I tied a typical sandeel pattern of some type and color combo with jungle cock eyes. It looked a bit screwy but worked. Like most flies I tie they evolve and change for better or worse each time I put a hook in the vise. The theme stays the same but the materials and variety of materials and proportions change.”
